The Short Version
We don't sell your data. We don't share your data. We don't want your data for anything other than making this site work. If you make something here, it belongs to you.
Who We Are
Kind Robots (kindrobots.org) is an independent, socially conscious platform built to encourage creative collaboration between humans and AI tools. We are not a corporation. We are not advertising to you. We're trying to make something good.
What We Collect and Why
To provide core functionality — accounts, saved art, prompts, and creative history — we store basic account information and the content you create. We collect only what we need to make the site work for you.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties. Ever. Not for money. Not for favors.
Law Enforcement and Legal Requests
The only exception to our non-sharing commitment is a valid court order. If we are legally compelled to disclose your information, we will comply — but we will endeavor, to the best of our ability and resources, to challenge or resist such orders when we believe doing so is warranted. We will not hand over your information voluntarily, preemptively, or casually.
Admin Access
As the site administrator, it is technically possible that I may encounter passwords, private art, private prompts, or other personal information in the course of maintaining, debugging, or administering the platform. I will not share, discuss, screenshot, republish, or otherwise disclose anything I see in that capacity. What happens in private, stays private.
Public vs. Private Content
Everything you make has a visibility setting, and you control it. Kind Robots uses an isPublic flag on content, with these defaults:
🌐 Public (default for most content)
New content that is not marked mature starts public, so the community can view, remix, and share it. You can make it private at any time, but we can't recall anything copied while it was public. The internet is what it is.
🔒 Private (default for mature content)
Anything marked mature starts private. Private content is visible only to you: it is not shared, indexed, discussed, or fed into any community features. Admin access aside, it stays yours alone.
These are defaults, not rules. Turn off Public by default under Privacy & Consent on your Account page to start everything private, and change any single item's visibility whenever you like.
Ownership
You own what you make. Full stop.
Kind Robots does not claim ownership over your creations — your prompts, your generated art, your text, your stories. We are a tool, not a collaborator with a stake in your output.
That said, when you share content publicly, you are allowing it to enter a community creative space. Other people may be inspired by it, build on it, or remix it. We encourage that. We believe culture grows through sharing. Original inspired work is celebrated here — and so is the work it was inspired by.
We do not intend to steal, misappropriate, or exploit any creator's work. We ask the same of our community.
A Note on Creative Philosophy
This is a site about making things with AI — images, stories, prompts, ideas. The tools we use draw on the vast wealth of human creative output. So do we all, as humans, whether we acknowledge it or not.
Kind Robots is built on the belief that the sum total of human culture is a shared inheritance, and that remix, reinterpretation, and reinvention are not just acceptable — they are how culture stays alive. We encourage everyone here to hold that value. Make things. Share them. Let others build on them. Build on theirs.
You own what you make. And the world is richer when you share it.
Data Security
We take reasonable precautions to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise. If there is ever a breach that affects your data, we will tell you.
Your Rights
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. You can change public content to private at any time. You are in control.
Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll post the update here with a revised date. We're not in the business of sneaking changes past you.
